Boulder County’s EnergySmart program has come out of a $25 million Better Buildings grant from the U.S. Department of Energy that is focused on driving energy efficiency and renewable energy development in homes and businesses across 3 counties in Colorado: Boulder County, City and County of Denver and Garfield County.
Symbiotic Engineering and Populus are currently teaming to combine our Sustainability Information Management System (SIMS) with Populus’ Customer Management System (CMS) to provide the core foundation for data and program management, for the Boulder County Better Buildings grant. Boulder County contracted with Symbiotic to provide comprehensive program tracking and reporting to both internal stakeholders and to the U.S. Department of Energy; as well as assist with the program’s social mobilization campaign through strategic targeting of residents and businesses and by administering Symbiotic’s Teach for Sustainability program – a social mobilization outreach strategy in schools to help drive interest and participation among the County’s residences see Kilowatt Kidz EnergySmart Challenge, click here to learn more.
