Recharge Colorado was originally launched by the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office to provide a centralized portal for Coloradans to find accurate information about energy efficiency and renewable energy measures, including information about financial incentives available to homes or businesses in the user’s geographic location. Symbiotic Engineering was first brought on to the project to manage the technical components of the initial Recharge Colorado program launch. Recharge Colorado successfully launched on time and has averaged 34,000 visitors per month with more than 33,000 Energy Action Planner accounts and 45,000 rebates issues since April 2010.
To leverage the investment of ARRA funds in the Recharge Colorado infrastructure to the continued benefit of Colorado’s resource efficiency marketplace, Symbiotic Engineering was selected by the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office to act as the lead consultant to devise and oversee the transition of Recharge Colorado to an independent nonprofit organization operating outside of the government using a fee-for-service model for revenue generation. Symbiotic Engineering has organized and coordinated a multi-stakeholder advisory committee to drive the further development of Recharge Colorado, which is comprised of representatives from the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO), the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), municipal utilities, nonprofits, energy service companies, consumer advocates, and the Treasurer’s office.
